As the last of my bearded Iris bloom, the heat of Kansas comes in on the wind.
Many plants that say (Grow in full sun), like the iris, will grow well in a little shade from the intense heartland sun.
I am blessed to have moved into an old farmhouse, which is encircled with over 100 white non-bearded iris and 10 colors of bearded iris.
You should take the time to smell each variety … because …
each color has a different smell.
